BlackOps Tournament Input Thread

As you know, I tried to throw a tourney in early December, but it didn't work out when only 7 of us were online (I realize it's hard for everyone to be online at once).

I created this thread so we could discuss possible BO tournament formats. I would prefer to have at least 8 contestants. Personally, I prefer tourneys to have some team aspect to them. However, there can only be one 1st place winner.

So one possible format is:

First game is a 4v4 Domination (teams divided based on LTG skill rank). The Top 5 scores (either team) from the 4v4 would move onto a final (FFA) round. 5 guys, and everyone for himself. Prize for 1st and 2nd place. Small maps only for maximum chaos. Small maps include Nuketown and Firing Range. Possible medium sized candidates could be Grid and Summit.

if there's only going to be one prize then free for all is the only option i think

Yea i agree with rubix, maybe it should be 2 FFA's. The top 5 will make it to the 2nd FFA for the prize.

Thanks for the input guys. What I was thinking is FFA is based purely on slaying. There are other aspects to this game though. This is why I suggested a team (objective) based game, so you could potentially make it to the final round by doing the objective as well as killing guys.

very true but in a team base game a guy with 2 kills could make just as much of a impact as a guy with 12 kills team type game don't work all that well with only 8 people and 1 prize. the only way i have seen what your trying to make work is like 10+ teams then the top 4 teams go to free for all
another thing you could do is is 4 teams of 2 in dom ctf and snd and the top 2 do a ffa

We should have two tournaments...one can be teams and the prize would be bragging rights and a FFA with an actual prize
